There is always your cell phone while you wait. Probably good enough for the in progress shots anyway.

I promised not to get another camera until the current one broke. My DSC-1H is 16 years old and still works perfectly.  Granted my new cell phone has higher resolution but for macro shots of miniatures it's still good enough for my level of painting.

I had thought of using the Smart Phone, but I haven't figured out how the thing works yet.
Thanks for the suggestion though, syrinx0.

It was a struggle, but I got the broken camera to take a couple of photos of the Mushrooms in the works. Here are the Devil's Cup Trio:

With a close up of the most complete of the three:

Until the next time I go into phot withdrawal syndrome.

These purples are fantastic! And in contrast with the ground color...  :-*

Thanks, Dinos. I am glad you like the colors. The purple is a new paint from Blick Art.

Yes, that very dark purple fits very well!

Thanks, Fram. I am glad you like it. The Block liquid acrylics I picked up are really quite striking colors.

One of the new cameras arrived today. SOI started figuring out how it works...they keep getting more complicated or I am getting dumber...both are viable possibilities.
The arrival coincided with the completion of another Mushroom pair:

The pics should get better with practice.

Looks like a nice one.

- Very sharp! Seems to have a higher shutter speed (or stabilization?). Very nice feature to have anyway.
- Obviously they're a bit bright which is washing out your colours a little, but that seems like a setting that can probably be fixed without too much fiddling.
- Depth of field seems to be a bit shallower. Again, no doubt a setting which can be fixed, though that one might be a bit more of a pain in the rear to figure out. Cameras are ALWAYS balky about macro-setting images in my experience.

Love the angle on that second, over-the-shoulder pic, BTW

Fram made some remarks on the spot.
Lovely new creations! As I said before, these purples are stunning!

The brightness is an easy enough fix. It's just a matter of becoming accustomed to the new Girl.
The two Mushrooms seemed like perfect foils for each other.

Thanks, Dinos. I am happy you like the Guys. I used a new purple from Blick. I rather like it as well.

SO The Old Camera managed to stop dumping her batteries yesterday; AND lest I miss an opportunity, I took an absurd number of photos of the two Devil's Cups which I will now inflict on you:

I never seem to be able to choose between the pics. Enjoy the evening!

Thanks, Dinos. The shininess is a nod to actual cup mushrooms. They retain moisture, morning dew. that sort of thing.

The varied textures and additions to your bases really bring your whimsical sculpts to life.  These are nice additions to your collection.

Thanks. syrinx0. I am glad you like it/them. Things are evolving, even with the bases.
