Wow. Awesome stuff, Nala!

Thank you, Knight-Captain Tyr! I am happy you like the new stuff.

Comparing the height of the trees with the bottles, they must be of impressive size!  :o

Thanks for the reply, Dinos! They are about a foot in height & quite broad. I am planning on having a dozen or so of them plus some smaller, deader looking ones. I am going to try to have them all festooned with Spanish moss & looking very Bayou  appropriate. Did I mention that I get carried away with things? I thought I might have.

"...where snakes snakes hang from the cypress trees like sausage on a smokehouse wall..."

Snakes, or... something else.  ;)  Trees that large are going to need plenty of decoration!

Now snakes are something I hadn't thought of until you mentioned them. Thanks, Fram. There definitely will be snakes.
The Trees will take quite a bit of decorating. Some will be more personable that others, but they all will need mushrooms of various sort & little feathered & furry folk to inhabit them...it is comforting to know what I will be doing for the rest of my life.

That shrine looks like it fits perfectly with the creepy gonzo aesthetic you do so well, nice find!

Looking forward to seeing the trees progress, seriously big trees are something a lot of us don't do on the gaming table and we really should.

The Zealot Miniatures' Shrine just seemed the thing to have hidden on a swamp islet. It will probably get creepier still as the trees get closer to completion.
Considering the amount of time a gaming army needs to get table worthy, smaller less detailed terrain makes sense. I am happy you like my trees. Thanks for the reply, Wirelizard!

The snakes idea has made me think about just what sort of snake would inhabit The Swamp. A version of Tall Tales' Python would be just the thing:

He/she/whatever is certainly whimsical/silly enough.

I finally finished twisting the branches on Tree #1.

You can get a better idea of just how many branches are involved from the top view:

Doing the clay sculpt on the trunk & larger branches & glue gun teasing the smaller branches & roots is next. This one will be getting a face as well. Then there will be another eleven or so trees to make...sigh.

So, this will be a grand and extended project of yours, with branches & roots!

It's more of an extension of the existing Last Hurrah Project. The Swamp is a significant part of the story. The Trees are a major feature of The Swamp.
Right now I am doing some work on bases for the Witch & Wizard Frogs. I also hope get some painting in while I do YET MORE wire twisting. All this will be interrupted this afternoon by a first visit to my new doctor...nothing wrong, just getting a blood test for my anticoagulates.

I finally had some stuff to photograph. Tree #2 has all its branches twisted & Tree #3 is on its way. The Shrine is now base coated as well:

I also have the understructure for Tiltin'Town, a Howl's Moving Castle inspired bit of Swamp scenery:

More whenever.

Probably along with Milliput, plumbers epoxy putty, foam, balsa, & miscellaneous bits of scrap material aka junk.

"Junk" is only a temporary condition once you get ahold it, it seems.  lol

"One man's junk is another man's treasure" has become my way of life.
I forgot lots of hot glue, foam putty, AND miles of floral wire figure large in the equation as well.

Smashing stuff as always DeafNala - love your quirky creations. I must ask, where and how to you store all the hundreds of items you have made?!
