Thanks, rednorseman! I'm looking forward to having it all painted up myself. There's nothing as motivating for a new project like finishing an old one.
I added a couple of patches of green stuff bark & a few shelf mushrooms today. It's coming along.

Very cool! Is this tree getting a face as well, or is it merely an imposing ancient?

Also love the elf. :D

Thanks, Fram. Your reply is appreciated as always. I'm glad you like The Tree & Elf...that combination seems natural even if done unconsciously.

For now The Tree is just a big, old tree, but with moi the possibility for some strange twist is an ever present possibility. I did add some shelf style mushrooms to the lower trunk & extended the bark up a couple of the branches with green stuff. There will be a few more to the woods; SO a sentient one is a certainty.

Thanks for the motivational reply, airbornegrove...glad you like it!
I'm doing the white over black dry brush as we speak...so to speak. The next tree I do, I'll add photos of the frame/armature along with a shot of the materials used to give a better idea of the process.

SO I have The Tree primed & ready for some color. As a size reference, a W.I.P. Troll volunteered to pose by The Tree:

...The Troll:

...AND Friends:

Now all I have to do is overcome the lure of monochromatic.

With the shelf fungus, it really looks magnificent. Or is that malificent...

It's nice to hear the former, but the latter is more to the point. Be that as it may, thanks, Fram!

Thanks, airbornegrove! I'm glad you like it. It's a pretty good start on the next section of The Spooky Woods.

Once again i am impressed by the creativity and quality.

Also the productivity.

I started making a large tree out of DAS when i first joined this forum 2 or 3 years ago. Needless to say it is still work in progress...

Is the metallic building some kind of observatory?

Thanks for the kind reply, weismonsters...it is appreciated. To be honest, I had the armature/frame lying around for a couple of months & I've had the DAS a lot longer than that. Once I over came inertia, the Beasty did move along pretty well

That is Armorcast's Steampunk Mushroom Observatory. Here's how it looks painted up in their shop:

Nice.

Armorcast have some fun stuff. I have my eye on the "mootant cow". Have you seen it?
