Building #8's upper stories are now crafted & base coated.
It will be some Fortune Telling, Potion Shop run by some Maria Ouspenskaya look alike:

This is how it fits in The Blight:

Loving the latest build.  :-*
The wonky walls are a little like some in my house ( it was a new build nearly 120yrs ago) minus the the mad face on the front obviously.....   :D

Thanks for the kind reply, Pappa! This one is a transition piece to the Goblin Quarter down the street...a twisted alley may be in the cards.
I understand that my old house once had a strange face over the front door, It was a diabolical visage I was told, but that was years before I lived there. The house was pretty strange even without the front door decoration.

Love the brickwork on the new place, Al.
Great carving!
 :-*

I like the fact that the door is on the top floor.
Will that be the entrance, accessed via ladder/stairs, or is it going to have a balcony?

Thanks, Paul...glad you like it. The brickwork is surprisingly relaxing. It's one of those things I enjoy doing, which could explain the horrid condition of the plaster on most of my buildings.

I've been debating that also. The door was one of those unplanned features. At first I was thinking of a loft door, but I didn't want the hoist. The ladder is an idea, but I was thinking of adding a perch. The exact nature of a flying creature that would call this place home is something that might be best not to think about.

I think this has to be my favourite of your boards so far which given the stiff nature of the competition is really saying something. It really rewards careful observation, which is far more satisfying than everything being obvious at first sight.

We are all fortunate that you are sharing your creation with us.

I feel fortunate to have such a receptive & appreciative audience. Thank you for the kind words, LordB!
When the final build is done (the little Warehouse is underway at the moment), then comes the fun part; i.e., all the painting & detail work...OH BABY!

SO here's the top section of 9th Building, The Haunted Warehouse...J. Marley's Fine Spirits:

...there will be some Spooky Things inhabiting that hole in the roof & peeking out the window:

Still achieving a high quality.

For a moment I thought you had doors that wrapped around corners (before I realised is was an edge building) in that first photo. While corner doors make no sense (more material for a smaller opening), I'll be seeing if I can incorporate that (unitended) idea into a future build of mine.

Thanks. von Lucky! I'm glad you are still enjoying it.
The warehouse is only partially represented the other half or so would be off the board...if that makes sense to you.

...OOOH COOL! A Salvatore Dali style door would fit right in with the place. A tad more melty would be the thing.

Think I'll steal that idea for a round/oval building at some point.  Not a corner door, but a curved one.  Very alien.
