SO somewhere in the middle of the night a thought intruded its way into my dreams that The Mushroom Forest NEEDED to be made more useful. This entailed removing the big central Mushroom & basing it separately. To avoid a recurrence of the dream suggestion, I did just that. Here is the result:

With the Mushroom now stage right & left:

Some more ambulatory Mushrooms volunteered to pose in the new setting:

AND The first of the CREEPY trees now has a friend. Both are progressing nicely progressing:

With baseball season winding down & the somewhat lower temperatures, I am starting to pick up speed...slowly.

Wow, that's a big improvement on the diorama background.

Thanks, Fram. I am glad you like it. The change does make it more useful for photos.
I have to make another large Mushroom piece for the opposite corner to frame the pics...this is also a splendid excuse to make something I would have made anyway.

This would be great! Any addition you make to the mushroom forest will be never enough! Because every item you create is original and you avoid repetition! When I stare for a long time to any one of these pictures, I feel that the eyes are blinking and change direction. And more: I feel that the faces of your mushrooms are emitting an internal light, with your brush you gave them life, this is the magic that you make! Cheers!!!

Plodding along through the Spooky Woods project, I finished twisting the wires on the first two Trees, did some hot glue coating/texturing, & sculpted the air clay bark on Tree #1..you will observe there is now a Tree #3 in the works:

AND, awhile after the first photos, the clay had dried hard enough to handle. SO I did the face on Tree #1:

That does it for today. Have a FUN evening!

Thanks very much for the kind reply, Din. I am happy you are enjoying the various stuff, The corner Mushroom or something similar is a must-do-item.
I think it is the beads that I use for eye that create the illusion that they are following the viewer. It is a creepy effect & one of the reasons folk say my stuff gives them nightmares.
I have some ideas for another photo stage other than the planned urban setting...an abandoned Haunted Tower. The Spooky Trees should work well with the setting.

The first of the three Trees is all base coated & ready for some paint & stuff. He is seen here with his two cronies to show the stages of development:

AND by himself:

Not much was done, but I did do some work on the Trees' bases:

AND I restocked my supply of regular mushrooms...for the bases:

The excess green stuff yielded a couple new Faces:

I see what I can get done today...no promises.
