Today Tree #2 got some attention in the form of a layer of textured/teased hot glue & a coating/sculpting layer of air dry clay (Premier):

The clay is drying nicely. Once it's hard, I'll hit it with a spray of Workable Fixative (Krylon); then it's paint time.

Yay! They are coming out great!
The left one looks weary/confused/distracted while the other looks as if it just woke up/astonished/saw something very interesting...
Or it is just my impression  ;)
The mushrooms on the base is adding life and motion - who says that flora doesn't move?  lol -especially spoooooky flora!!!

Thanks, Din. I am happy you like the progress. They are as you imagine them to be. I have a few friend, Lazetta, who make stories for her Grandchildren from my terrain & miniatures.
The stories told are what you see in my stuff. It is your own unique perspective that is the right way to see things...at least, that is my spin on it.
The mushrooms should add a nice touch of color. I may add some shelf mushrooms as well. Probably around back where the Tree can't reach.

Oh Gosh! What an itch!  lol
Some of them, underneath their hat, could they have tiny eyes and a cunning smile?  ;D

I hadn't thought of adding faces under the caps, but it is a splendid idea. Thanks, Din.

Yes! Shelf fungus!

One of these days you'll have to give some of them tiny little faces!  ;D

This is a probable. The subject of a carnivorous apple tree came up on another forum with each of the apples having a leering little face.
I think that I have reached a stage where folk see faces in everything I do without my actually doing them...makes things easier that way.
Thanks for the continued support, Fram!

So far today I have added some wire branches & done some green stuffing to Tree #3.
The Face is pretty much done...green stuff-wise that is:

...later the same day, while I was hot glue coating the branches, I did up a Little Monk to live under some of the roots:

Taking a step backward to put the Monk in size perspective to the Tree:

He is a towering 10mm tall.

The branches are now hot glued & the trunk has a sculpted coating of DAS air dry clay. In 36 hours it will be ready for some paint. SO here's what Tree #3 looks like now:

AND the Little Monk got a touch up:

Until whenever...

Hey, this third tree is so confused  lol it will be the craziest tree of all three!
What to say about the Little Monk? Your aptness to create a new original face every time, is unquestionably fantastic!

What if I suggest another tree character to join your Spooky Trees...
The Twinmood Tree: A single trunk splitting in two V shaped branches, two faces staring at each other: One Laughing. One crying.

In any case, eagerly waiting what new is going to come from your workbench!
