Thanks, Schrumpfkopf. I am delighted my stuff makes you happy. That actually is the main reason I make the stuff.

Re: The Last Hurrah Project: 11/27/17 Creepy Base

A fine example of being easily distracted: I had this base sitting around for a while with only a vague idea what I was going to do with it. Well...I got an idea from a YouTube video. & started working on it. It's a Spooky scene base. I still haven't a clue what will go on top, but I do love making bases:

Since the photos were taken I added eyes to the tree & sand to the base. Once the glue for the sand dries I will start doing up the tree...so to speak.

I'm sure fungus will be involved...  lol

...this is a given. There always seems to be some mushrooms involved.

Meanwhile some progress has been made on the base. I added the sand, sculpted the face, & did the bark...the orange stuff is DAS air dry clay:

Now I have to be patient until the clay dries. It should be ready for paint tomorrow evening or Wednesday morning.

SO today I did my white over black on all but the DAS parts of the base.

Tomorrow the DAS will get a spray of workable fixative & the base coat treatment.

Wow! What the tree is looking at, must be a great (nasty???) surprise!
Staring with awe and somehow trying to avoid it!
The whole face seems to be moving away!!!
You achieved one more original face expression! Hats off!
Waiting with patience  ;)

Thanks for the reply, dinos. I am happy you like it thus far. I still have no idea what mini(s) will wind up on the base, but that adds to the excitement....sort of.

AND the DAS has dried, been sprayed, & is base coated:

I can now start painting while I search The Vault for THE PERFECT miniature or miniatures to inhabit The Base.

While I was marauding my way through the Vault I started another Haunted Forest/Spooky Woods base:

Now I have to find a few PERFECT minis...sigh.

The second base is progressing nicely. I have sand covering the ground; the wire branches are done; AND the air dry clay bark is sculpted:

The branches should get the hot glue treatment later today. Then all but the DAS parts will get base coated...probably. SO until then...whenever then is.
