There are a couple other Audubon Society Handbooks I'm looking at getting.

She has quite the collection of those. Seems the fossil, birds, and plant ones are most common in her collection.

The flowers, butterflies, spiders & insects ones look interesting. I like their trees handbook, but it has limited possibilities for modeling.

Definitely has that "Jim Henson" look alright. Probably even more so once the colour's added.

Thanks, Fram. I admire Jim Henson's work; the comparison is quite a compliment.
I started doing the groundwork today. It was a low energy day so I didn't get as much done as I would have liked.

Yesterday I was surprised by a package from my friend, Tobias, our own Comsquare. It was Ravenswood's Oh-So-Cool Mushroom King aka Goblin Brigand Chief.
This is how the finished miniature looks:

This is the W.I.P. Goblin & his equally W.I.P. base:

The tree will have a hollowed out area directly behind Himself.

...I love zooming in. Now the DAS has to dry for a day or so. Until whenever...

Funny you should mention it; i.e., I was just doing some size comparisons. I've been a Goblin sort of Guy for a long time now.

He matches up pretty nicely with a few different types of Goblins. The G.W. Night & Day types look pretty good other than their
hands. The Darkhold are smaller, except in the nose department, but they would make nice flunkies. I have some others to check
out. He might look good with a mixed band of hooligans of various ethnic types.

Considering I haven't played any games in decades, I find I still think in terms of units...it could be a form of congenital idiocy.

DeafNala, yesterday I remembered you very much, when a group of unwary travellers in the Enchanted Forest were attacked by a pack of wild mushrooms!  ;)

I hope mine turns out even a bit like that one. Whoever did it has a real flair for Goblins.

The Tree got mushroomed up today; you just can't be The Mushroom King without mushrooms:

The King got positioned so I can get at all the fiddly details...pretty much:

There you go until whenever. Thanks for the reply, dino!

Thanks for the kind reply, AND the miniature, Tobias.
The Mushroom King is a wonderfully detailed, charming piece. I hope I am up to it.
