Lovely stuff.  I really like the vibrancy of this group as well as the contrast of the black shrooms.

Thanks for the kind reply, syrinx0...glad you like them. I am still a bright color Guy.

Impressive sculpting and such great colors! Do you use these in games or are they only on the hobby/artwork side?

Thank you for your kind words also, Frugalmax! These are destined to be scatter terrain for Friend Justin's Warhammer Night Goblins vs Dwarfs games. Much as I like doing display pieces, I like seeing them in action also; AND I know they will be properly handled by F.J..

Thanks, marianas gamer! It is nice to be back. I hope to spend more time on the forum. I really missed the place when I could access it.

Good expressions on the latest pair. Nice and goofy.

I dragged my feet going to Windows 10 also. I only got it when I bough my HP Pavilion; re, it was the software that cam with the PC. So far it is okay; being back on the air after a week of down time is WONDERFUL. I haven't activated Copilot, their AI, yet...could ne a Terminator hang up.

I uninstalled copilot the minute it poked its nose at me.  lol

I'm still on 10. They'll have to drag it from my cold dead motherboard, just like they did 7.  >:D

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Thanks, Fram. I am glad you like the new stuff. I was pleasantly surprised that Justin so enthusiastically love the weirder pieces. It makes the project that more interesting/fun to do.
I have one new & thoroughly strange stalagmite base in the painting stage & another equally strange Mushroom Forest piece being Green Stuffed...pics are imminent.
To be honest, I have never seen much improvement from one Windows version to the next. If not forced to do so I never would have gone to newer versions. Copilot shall remain in statis forever.

Thanks for the reply, Fram. I am happy you liked the way the tongue turned out. This definitely is going to a VERY creepy gaming board!

Very cool! Your work is really impressive!

These remind me of a game that I'm interested in called "Stalagbite" by Midlam Miniatures in the UK (for anyone interested: https://www.midlamminiatures.co.uk/stalagbite-board-game.html). I haven't been able to find it in the U.S. and unfortunately the shipping from the UK is about the cost of the game all over again, so I haven't taken that leap... yet. But if I did get it, I was thinking about sculpting my own carnivorous stalagmites/bites as well as the other critters to replace the meeples with miniatures. (Anybody in here played that game?)

What materials do you use for sculpting?

I have a YouTube and so can you!

Thanks for the reply, Frugalmax. I a, glad you like the stuff!
I start with a LITKO wooden base. Most of the pieces use a 50mm or 60mm base.
The basic shape is crumpled up aluminum foil . Once I have the desired shape, I hot glue it to the base; then I sculpt the rock formation with DAS air dry clay . I apply a coating of Mod Podge over the DAS sculpt to toughen it up a bit.
Once dry (24 hours) I apply a base coat of a mix of watered down Mod Podge & black acrylic paint (Blick or Americana). to seal it.
The  larger stalagmites are either Master Plumber Epoxy Putty (available from Ace & True Value Hardware or DAS oner a floral wire or armature wire with the largest one getting the crumpled aluminum foil treatment. Same deal on coating the DAS ones with Mod Podge.
The smaller stalagmites & details are done in green stuff.
The stalagmites also get the Mod Podge & black coat. Finally I do a white dry brush &. voila, ready to paint.

I hope that answers the question.

I was just going through various pages of this post throughout the years - thirteen years by my count -  and what a fantastic and wonderful adventure this has been. I've followed your progress every now and then at various times, and I'm always amazed and I wonder what the whole collection must look like all put out together (maybe there's a post that I've missed along the way). Beautiful, wonderful and stunningly amazing work.
