These woods are great! I love the mass of the trees and the bark texture. I have a dark woods project that's been in the planning stages for many months, and I think I'll have everything I need to get started in Sept. Seeing these makes me want to get to it that much more!

Thanks again, Guys! I'm glad the explanation made sense...making sense become more difficult with age.
Giving you a bit of motivation, Spooktalker, is a plus for moi.
AND I too am a pecan pie fancier. With the drought here this year, the trees are dropping their nuts early; so no pies & the prospect of a bad Winter for our squirrels. The premature nuts do, however, make interesting, body snatcher style pods...nothing goes to waste.

Woah - been away too long and nearly missed all the fun here!

Just when I thought you'd hit the pinnacle of daft goblinnery you go on and surpass yourself!

The Woods are absolutely fantastic - love the faces and the sharp tusks in particular - that is going to be one mad game when you get the table done!  :-*

Thanks, Thantsants! I'm glad you came across the updates...I value your opinion/feedback.
The next Thingy I have going is a circle of petrified haunted/possessed trees...Stoned Hedge. This time I hope to remember some W.I.P. photos.

I would love the concept of Stoned Hedge even if I hadn't seen your amazing evil, tusked trees - can't wait!

Hopefully you won't have too long a wait. I have one piece approaching completion; i.e., only the faces left to paint; five with the eyes glued in & the G.Sing ready to be done; AND a central altar-like stump that's only primed.

To prepare you for the finished silliness, here are some TRULY MEDIOCRE photos of the W.I.P. on The Amazing Magical Circle of Continuous Chatter, aka Stoned Hedge:

The Overview:

Individual Shots:

The above one is approaching completion; the ones below are merely primed:

As always comments, critiques, adulation, & barely veiled threats are MOST WELCOME...mostly.

Deafnala,
You surpass yourself yet again!

I absolutely love these guys! :-* :-* :-*

You either live in a really spooky place OR the inside of your head is a damn scary place to be!!!
 ;)

Absolutely brilliant, Sir.

Take a bow.

Thank you, one & all, for your kind & encouraging responses to my humble efforts...humility is one of my talents that I'm quite proud of. Good Fellowship is the hallmark of L.A.F..

To be truthful, the answer is "yes" on both counts. While Texas might not be considered the most bizarre of places, I live in a grove of TRULY SPOOKY Pecan Trees & purportedly Live Oaks. What goes on in my head would probably give Tim Burton a case of the Deep Purple Horrors...I try to avoid all contact with me, but wherever I go; there I am.

Take a bow.
