Fantastic work DeafNala. Lovely scenery, that would be a joy to adventure through, if you survived the local flora.

Thank you all for your kind words & much appreciated encouragement!

Thanks, the Avatar is a dunger sculpted by Curtis from Ramshackle Games.

You can find more painted dungers here (blatant self promotion  :D)

THANKS! I knew I saw them someplace, but damned if I could remember where..."blatant self promotion" is encouraged when the stuff is THAT COOL.

Your terrain looks even better all assembled together for some group shots!
Very nice DeafNala!
 :-*

Getting the stuff I had already made to work together proved to be less of a challenge than I thought. I've exhaust most of the pieces I had accumulated; SO there will be new stuff in the works...OH BABY!

Stunning stuff. It's been a joy to watch this project unfold.

I've started visualizing the next two board & how they'll hook up with the Isles of Langerhans...& the Goblin City.
I'm shooting for a solo game or two during All Star Break...or possibly after the World Series.

Would you mind giving us a good pic of what you've got built on that ledge? That looks most intriguing  :D :D

No problem; I have photos of most all the stuff prior to the glue down..."glue down" started the Theme from The Good, the Bad, & the Ugly playing through my head. I hope I'm getting the one you want; this is the Big One on the foreground hill:

With the Little Guy on the far right by the road:

The All Seeing Eye:

The Faces:

With the Little Guy again & Van Halfling for size comparison..or something like that:

The Glowing Brain or Weird Stone Lump depending on your point of view:

AND, so we don't hurt his feelings, The Little Guy:

Thanks once more for all the kind comments...VERY MOTIVATING STUFF!

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHH! Now that song is embedded in my mind...such as it is! Be that as it may, the "eyes" are various size beads. I'm not sure where I got the idea, but, if it's not "an original", I am deeply indebted to whoever I stole it from. The beads (I know I've said this before, but repeating myself is part of the Crazy Old Man mystique) for some reason or other, probably the hole, seem to follow the viewer around adding to the generally creepy feeling engendered.

This isn't a group of boards. This is a sculpture, a work of art. The environment is like a wondrous but unsettling dream, one that disturbs you with unformed yearnings through the day while you try to concentrate on work. It makes me want to wander its strangeness.

You are an accomplished artist.

I even like the fact that the name Compo just makes me think of Last of the Summer Wine . I can just imagine Sid and Ivy arguing in there, and dear old Wally sneaking in for a quick pint while Nora's back's turned.

Thanks MUCHO for your very kind reply, Garanhir. The Project has taken on a life  of its own...a rather disturbingly funny one. It's a strange view of all the things I've enjoyed about miniature, games, movies, cartoons, & art all lumped together in a single, surrealistic lumpy Dream...or Nightmare depending on your sensibilities & point of view. This doesn't mean it or I should be taken all that seriously...I'm glad you are enjoying it.

Thanks also for the Last of the Summer Wine reference. I wasn't familiar with the show; SO I looked it up...it sounded like my type of sitcom. I'm sorry I missed it.

It does have a B Horror Movie feel to it...The Tree That Ate Sheboygan. It's actually a Hazelnut...part of Mom Nature's contribution to The Project.

Lovely as usual, my friend.

The idea for the use of the beads has just been passed on. I've got some cool dried seed pods that I collected from my gardens last year and I'm going to do some of those eyes up and pop them in. Thanks for passing the tip on  :D :D :D

You're welcome, Amiga...glad to be of some small service.
I really should make it point to mention the component parts in things I scratch build, When I was learning the craft, the Guys with the know-how seem determined to take their secrets to the grave; as such, I'm more than willing to pass it along...damn I'm a sport.

You certainly are.

Your Project continues to amaze me. The bewitching weirdness is really something to look at, enjoy and get completely lost in. "What a wonderful world..."

Thanks for the VERY kind words, Doomhippie. I hope I can continue the bewitching effect...that was a charming way of describing my work. Today was lost in a supply run to Austin, but I hope to start the painting on the Spooky Woods tomorrow.

Awesome!
The trees that are in full leaf are scratch built; those sans foliage & sporting faces are live oak & pecan bark with scratch built branches et al...God takes most of the credit for the craftsmanship.

Apparently, there's no substitute for the real thing! Looking verrrrrrrrrry spooky. And thank you for sharing what your secrets are :)

Nice hills ;)

AMAZING detail in these latest pics! I'm stunned at how you manage to put yes everywhere and make it look like they should really be there ... :-*
