Dora's place is now open for business...more or less. Many's the Guy, Goblin or Otherwise, who's stopped off for "a wee drop at Dora's". Now that I've gotten that out of my system here are some photos of the latest development:

Your comments, critiques, & endowments for the arts would be most welcome...for the most part.

Wait - that's a tavern? I'm still getting awesome the Henson vibe, keep it up.

Thanks, Guys! I needed a jolt of motivation.

Wait - that's a tavern? I'm still getting awesome the Henson vibe, keep it up.

Nothing quite so grand...more like one of the little, illegal bars that dotted my old stomping grounds. The whole Shanty Town will be a series of party spots...Goblins living up to their reputation.

I love it for some reason the 'Cheers' theme tune popped into my head from nowhere...brrr spooky

I had an Old Scottish drinking song (forgive the spelling: Just A Wee Daken Dora in mind. But now that you mention it, the Cheers would work...& be impossible to stop playing through the mind.

Does it have a back door to throw the unruly out of, or for the owners to escape whatever passes for "The Authorities" in DeafNala land?

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

I do have space on the underside for a trapdoor...EXCELLENT suggestion! Thanks, Fram.

I am really liking your weathered timber. The shades and tones in it are fantastic, and define your wood grain very well. The cracked plaster and brick work is a nice addition sir.

The little establishment has no running water? So it doesn't need any little pipes running into it?

Cheers
Matt.

Love Dora's DeafNala  :-*  The colors are not what I would have picked for either the piers or the building but they work really well, something I will file away for use some day. Great work as always.  Keep it up and I won't even say "lay off the mushrooms" as they seem to work just fine  lol lol

I'm delighted you like it. I guess all the practice is paying off...I wonder where I'd be if I practiced something practical.

Now that's an idea. I could add a Water tower/tank with pipes feeding some of the establishments...the height would add another level to the Beasty. Drinking the Swamp water might be a very bad idea; actually water isn't any good for you...just look what it does to your shoes.

The colors probably wouldn't work in a saner project, but sanity has never been a strong point with moi.
The photos did reveal the curtain needed some toning down; so I went back & softened the shadows.

Thanks, Paul! This corner of my mind may be strange(r), & surrealistic, but it's a far more pleasant place than Cruel Reality....the rest of The Mind is dusty & cobweb festooned.

My Man in Australia, Joe Thomlinson, out of the kindness of his heart sent me this LOVELY Witchy Woman. While she may not gather me awards, she was a pleasure to paint & a WONDERFUL addition to The Project:

Seen here near her Mushroom, Mother Josephine:

SO thanks again, Joe...you are a FINE FELLOW!
As always your king comments & critiques would be most welcome...mostly.
