So exciting! I love the crow's nest waaaaay up there. The shingles look fantastic. Just waiting for the crows to move in above them.

Jevenkah

Thanks for the enthusiastic response,Jevenkah...that made my evening! It could be a crow's nest, but I was trying for a stork. They have a thing about building their nests in chimneys. I was thinking of getting one of the Crocodile Games Ibis folk & converting it into a Stork Man, although a WereCrow could be a fun piece also. The nest is the highest point on the tower at just over 27".

SHITE!! what can one say.....? OVER THE TOP!!  :o :o :o :o :o :-* :-* :-* :-*

Thanks, DowVooVoo! I'm glad you like it. Getting carried away with things is my thing...it makes life more exciting...mostly.

I finally figured out what your work reminds me of. I kept trying to nail down what artist you seem to channel, but I've realized it's not an artist at all. It's a writer. For me, there's a Neil Gaiman feel in this project. It's a combination of darkness and whimsy, with a manic joy that comes just to the edge of madness. The melding of things Gothic and old with things fresh and alive. I can see an innocent child wandering through the streets of your city, escorted by an adult protector who may or may not have their best interests at heart.

Loving the tower. Such a brilliant project all around, even if it is driving you to swearing! :)

The most common list of culprits include Tim Burton, Jim Henson, Brian Froud, & some mention of infernal creatures. I'm only familiar with Neil Gaiman through his collaboration with Terry Pratchett on Good Omens; considering the number of rereads I've done on that book, that doesn't rule him out.

Thanks, leonmallett! I'm afraid that it only gives me an excuse for a bit of profanity now & then. ..the practice will come in handy if I should ever remarry.

You mean you are not married to the hobby? I am aghast DeafNala ;) you better make some vows after setting out on such a big project :D

I like your take on the tower and can see a helpless knight climbing to his doom already hahaha lol lol lol.

I would be okay with vowing to stay alive the fifty or so years necessary to finish everything I'd like to make for The Project...of course, The Man might have other ideas on the subject.
Now that you mentioned the Knight, coming up with a suitable if somewhat living impaired following for Rapunzel could be interesting. I'd say this was taking over my life, but that happened a long time ago.

Thanks, Andrew. I like that description; "sublime" has such a nice ring to it especially for something that might well be categorized as "ridiculous".

I always was lousy at proof reading my own scribbles, but that was an interesting misspell.
