Well, last night I couldn't come up with any more pithy puns.  Even now, I believe cucurbita is the gold standard here.

All I got after my Melon-choly Prince was somewhere in the back of my mind I kept hearing Henny Youngman saying; "I called her my melancholy Baby, because she had a shape like a melon & she smelled like a collie".

Heh.  What with this being about a pumpkin-head, I wonder if you don't have a miniature version of Lance Henriksen you could paint up?

I had to look that one up; I was originally thinking of a take off on the Headless Horseman. One of the West Wind Vampire Wars minis could double as Lance.

If I hadn't taken the convo off into pun land, I probably wouldn't have thought of Pumkin-head either.  That being said, I really am a fan of your work.  The whimsy and dedication shown make it one of my favorite threads on the boards.

Thanks, hjorhrafn. All the feedback I get is my major motivation...including all the puns, AND there were some EXCELLENT groaners in that exchange! All that said, I'm glad you are enjoying it & have taken the time to say so.

TADA! The First of Eleven suitably decrepit buildings is now all painted up with only some interior details to go. AND here's what it looks like:

Once I've finished the paintings & added a few more details, I'll do some interior photos. Until then your comments would be appreciated...for the most part.

Thanks for the reply, affun! I am, of course, delighted you like it. Now I'm actually looking forward to doing the rest of the buildings...Thanksgiving dinner ought to play havoc with that.

You keep producing amazing and characterful pieces.

It keeps me out of trouble for the most part...kind of.

That cracking is, as the Brits say, cracking!

Thanks, Fram...glad you like it. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly & enjoyably the Beasty painted up.

Ooh the damp plaster around the cracks is a very nice touch.

Looks fabulous!

Cheers
