While I was puttering with Mushrooms for MoM, I made this little Goblin Hovel. It may be part of Rapunzel's Twisted Tower...or not. The Dark Hold Padre & Monk are there for a size comparison; the monk is 10mm tall.

There you go!

It fits perfectly. I love the idea of a poor urban goblin church.  lol

Also for some reason it gave me a brief and odd vision of a goblin Diogenes.  ;D

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Our minds do travel down the same channel...I won't bring up the gutter possibility. I picture two Goblin Padres bearing striking resemblances to Bing Crosby & Barry Fitzgerald...now I have the Bells of St. Mary's in a loop through my mind.

Wonderful looking build there!  :-*

Have you considered making underground terrain tiles using just black and white or greyscale painting, like seen in the pics? I think it would work very nicely with the wonderful colour splashes above ground and then the gloomier underground.

That building manages to be simultaneously quirky and disquietening; I love it.

I concur with Pocoloco. I realise that it's part of your general production process, but I do think that your "before" pictures with the undercoat and drybrush are very atmospheric. If you do have an area where it would be appropriate to leave a selection of models in that state it could be very effective, I think.

That's a brilliant building! I love the ambiguity of the eye: decoration or some sort of goblin burglar alarm?

Thanks for the reply & the suggestion/idea, pocoloco. I think on of the reasons or excuses for leaving so much of my pieces, especially the minis, in a white over black primed state is that I really like the way they look. Doing the Sin City monochromatic effect with spots of color is appealing to moi. I just have to overcome a conservative streak.

Thanks LordB. There does seem to be a scary/silly quality to my stuff. It is more or less a reflection of my personality & sense of humor; i.e., absurd & surrealistic appeal to moi.
There have been a few suggestions about going monochrome from some other Folk as well. It is something I probably should consider. I think after years of explaining that the black & white is just my way of priming, having to explain that it is now a finished piece may be the daunting factor in a switch.

Thanks, Hobgoblin. The eyes like the faces are spooky additions that have become part of my style; almost trademarks. They are mostly atmospheric touches; what they actually are is up to the viewer...gets you involved in the story.

SO...I have a half dozen W.I.P. "Shroom pieces ready for SerialMoM's consideration.

I missed one for the closeup shots, but I figure you've reached saturation point by now anyway. Those that MoM may not want may be looking for a new home.

Those are some great looking mushrooms. Are they by a manufacturer or do you sculpt them yourself? Whichever they are they are very, very well done!

Thanks for the kind reply, Arundel. I'm glad you like them. They're all home grown so to speak.

Thanks, LordOdo! Give it a try; it's really not a difficult sculpt. If you need any tips, just let me know.
