Where are you based?
Various online stores sell plastic card. Most brick and mortar model shops stock it as well.
I use some corrugated card I got from Hobbycraft, very cheap compared to plastic.
Flat on one side, corrugated on the other.

I echo the corrugated cardboard comments.

It's an old old old standby for corrogated metal and usually works decently. Just dampen one side and peel away. If you need two-sided sheets, that's much trickier, but it can be done with some patience (peel one side, let dry, do again on the other side) and you will lose a little of the shape (youc an recover that shape when you glue the sheet in place).

It also doesn't get any cheaper than ubiquitous cardboard!

Take cardboard and leave it over a humidifier, commonly used for people with the flu, etc.  The steam will really loosen the cardboard up.  Not perfect, but it works to a degree.

i use corrugated cardboard. i prefer it to plastic as it is easier to crumple to make it look deteriorated.

Today, I learned that corrugated metal actually dates back to 1820, which is way earlier than I thought!  o_o

Certainly, that was post-napoleonic corrugated iron. Then came the corrugated iron that won the west, followed by Victorian corrugated iron. They made Great War corrugated iron in early 20th century and later WW2 corrugated iron. The post war corrugated iron was called atomic corrugated iron until it came to computer aided designed corrugated iron by the end of the 20th century. Post millenium corrugated iron is either called lost-faith-in-space-travel- or nearly-post-apocalypse-corrugated iron...(or something like that)...
