Enslaved Ghouls (Nosferatu added)
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:15:12 AM »
I painted up some Ghouls for my forthcoming CinCar Nosferatu warband.  Believe it or not, they are not that shiny IRL.

Individual photos and more babbling here: http://geektactica.blogspot.com/2011/02/enslaved-ghouls.html

VERY NICELY DONE! You don't often see well dressed Ghouls...it's good to see some living impaired folks who take pride in their appearance. I like your skin tones as well.

Nice plastic GW zombie head on that oversized westwind axe wielding chappie, like the colour scheme too.

Question: that gargoyle topped grave monument....where's that from?

As our local group uses the term "shiny" as 'distracting from any business at hand', these are definitely THAT shiny. ;->=

Well  done, and glad to see the band is happily married. Or so, from their appearance and the sage words of Sherlock Holmes, I should think...

Dude, you have a great imagination.  Nice figs.  I can't wait to see your Nosferatu models.  Another AAR would be good too ;)

Although I can't find it on their site right now, I have a hunch that it came from a Reaper pack. One of the guys gave me the model a thousand years ago or so, so I really can't be sure.

You shan't be waiting too long as it turns out. I finished painting them tonight. With four painted warbands in my collection now (Hungarian Monster Hunters, Werewolves, Romanian Vampires, Nosferatu) as well as a collection of villagers and secondary characters, I think you could safely say that I'm a Chaos In Carpathia fanboy.  :D

Oh, one more thing. I sprayed one more coat of matte varnish on these guys today and they've virtually lost all of the shine. Thank god.

Suitably ghoulish, the muted colours are just right. Fantastic work.

Thanks guys. As promised, here are some photos of my freshly-painted Nosferatu. If you want to makes sense of them, go here: http://geektactica.blogspot.com/2011/02/alchemist-of-old-dertflinghan.html

Staying true to my recent "no frills" painting mood, most of these are fairly simple paint-jobs. The man-bat (as you can clearly see) was drybrushed in 5 minutes, with eyes, ears and teeth painted after in another two minutes. It's fun sometimes to just fly through a model in the time it takes to down one cup of tea.

Your no frills painting style is effective especially when coupled with excellent terrain and a good story line.  Nice job on the Vamps and the back ground story for that matter.  I can't wait to see how he fares in an AAR.

As bloodysword said, your style is effective and looks great along with the fantastic terrain you use.
Looking forward to seeing more.
