WIP:New Victorian House *COMPLETED* 22 March 2011
« on: March 02, 2011, 02:17:26 PM »
Started putting together a Victorian house.
This is a first build-up to see how it's going together. It still needs chimneys, finishing on the dormers and a faux interior for the large main window.
The finished building will have working porch lights and possibly an enclosed rear yard with a stable.

Thanks guys.
The slates are strips of card with "nicks" cut into them then overlapped to give the impression that they are separate pieces.
The roof looks a little odd at the moment because it's a little wrinkled. This is because card i used isn't what I normally use. It is is more expensive BUT warps like hell when you put PVA glue on it! I'm hoping I can level it up a little when it's painted ( the wet paint should make it easier to tease the roof back into shape.)
The "expensive card" is being set to one side for photo printing and I'll be picking up some cheap "wrinkle free" card tomorrow.
Learnt a valuable lesson: just because it costs more doesn't mean it's better!!!!
Cheers

Brilliant - how long does it take to scribe all that foam? However long it is, it's well worth it. Fantastic build, wonderful detail, and great imagination. Can't wait to see it painted!

I thought that the warping in the roof was on purpose. It adds character to the building
