Africa - Slave Caravan (upd. 18.10 - p.14)
« Reply #198 on: 18 October 2015, 12:50:32 PM »
Didn't want to start a new thread so I've picked up this older one to place some of the cleared backlog, Slave Caravan. The scene was done for the last LPL, and the figures were waiting for some close-ups since then. I also wanted to use the opportunity and to make photos of other older Africa stuff, I've used in this picture, scattered through the various forums and blogs and never photographed properly.

The absolutely beautiful work you have done on your African figures was one of the key inspirations that drove me to put together my African adventure.  Thank you.  I never get tired of looking at these figures.  Richard

Stunning work and that first picture is just amazing!
 :-* :-*

(Not that is anything wrong with the other pictures, they are all great but the composition of the first is top class....).

Great to see these. Grimm's  jungle scenery are still some of my most favourite ever pieces from the LAF. :-*

I have just been back through the entire thread as it's first two incarnations are from before I signed up.
Absolutely stunning brushwork through the ages ( ;)).
 :-* :-*

Really glad that you revived it, as everyone should have the pleasure of seeing this for the first time (and a second and third time for a lucky few).

That is some seriously impressive painting and the figures placed in some fantastic terrain, giving the whole thing a life of its own.  Brilliant.  :o :o :

Fantastic painting, with very vivid colors, and a beautiful scenery. Your trees, sir, stand out like very few other pieces of scenery. Are you by any chance using bonsais?
