I will post the report of the third and last scenario.

Third scenario: The tomb of terror!

The heroes have followed the Warlord soldiers to their camp. There, they can see how a little army extends in front of a hill, where there is an old tomb of the Quin dynasty. The soldiers carry the two girls to the tomb, that seems to be the headquarters, and scientists enter and exit it during the day.

Sheltered by the night, the bold heroes cross the camp and put out of combat the absent-minted guards at the tomb entrance.

Their objectives were to know if Osborne Beef is the Warlord, find proofs of his evil plans (and stop them, if possible), rescue the two girls and exit before the next guards arrive.

The heroes at the entrance:

As fast as possible, the heroes rush towards the markers (as they have a limited number of turns) looking for proofs of the experiments that Prof. Beef and his team have been doing there and the two girls. Soon they find clues that they have been using the zombie plants seeds in their experiments:

But look at that, what is this? A big laboratory, full of mechanical apparatus lays here. In the middle, a terracotta soldier statue is under a estrange machine:

But it is not empty! From the other side, an evil laugh fills the air: ‘Welcome, we were waiting you’ says the evil Dr. Frankfurder ‘But it is too late, our main experiment is ended’. At his feet, lays a terrified Chinese prisioner:

‘I can see it has been for you easy to arrive here, but we are going to see how you do from now!’ and drawing a syringe, he inject it to the prisoner, who begins to change into a monster. Before the transformation is completed, the evil Dr. activates a machine that stops it. ‘It is still not perfect. He is very aggressive and sometimes does not follow the orders, but we are working on that… Kill him’ says to the beast.

The mini-Yeti attacks the hero Harry Devil, supported by an evil henchman who shots his machine gun against Harry, injuring him badly. But it is not enough to finish him, and before the beast arrive to close combat, he empty his two guns on it. The beast is lying dead at the floor.

The shots alert the other heroes, and Dubois, the big game hunter, turn to aid his friend. From a great distance, kills the henchman. This situation is exploited by two scientists that were occult. Luckily, they were working here under threats, and decide to ally the heroes.

The rest of the heroes enter the main laboratory and shot Frankfurder, who is badly injured, but before, he injects some venom to the Great Kellar, who is injured too.

The shots have broken some of the machines (each shot failed has a percentage for break things, with different consequences (electricity wires that could hurt someone, etc). One of them activates the transmutation machine! With a laugh, Dr. Frankfurder enters the machine, and is transmuted into the terracotta warrior!! He thinks is his last victory, but it is not. A well directed shot to the head and the animated statue breaks in thousands of pieces.

Empty the room of enemies, the heroes continue their search and find some friendly scientists, which ally them, and Li Tang Mei! who prevents Kellar to enter a room, that would break the Yeti’s prison!! Li Tang Mei says them that she could flee seducing one of her custodians.

One of the botanical scientists says them where the zombie plants are, and the heroes go there. With the aid of a strange machine created in the electromagnetical laboratory, they open the door.

And kill them easily (the electromagnetical gun creates an area where the zombie plants could not enter, and as they catch them at the room, were killed easily. This was not premeditated, as the botanical laboratory was placed before the electromagetical one, but the players pass it…).

Only remains the decorated door at the end of the corridor. After the scientist exit the tomb, the heroes approach it. They have to do a puzzle to open it, but knowing Chinese and some Brains tests later, open it.

And who is occult behind that door is not Prof. Beef, but the ineffable Dr. Fu Manchu, who invites them to enter. At the left side of the room, Miss Chekmeneva hangs over a snake pit. Around the evil Dr. there are four terracotta statues and two henchmen, as well as Mahmoud Medina and his monkey Pico. So, seems that there is a connexion between the Chinese mastermind and Prof. Beef, after all.

Fu Manchu tells them his plans, because they are going to die anyway. He plans to bring havoc to the greater nations giving, as a present, one terracotta warrior to each of his leaders. With a secret word, the statue will come alive and kill the leaders. They can do nothing, because almost all of the statues are travelling to Shanghai, from where they will be distributed around the world. The four that are here, were for small countries, and are not going to be necessaries.

But before leave, Fu Manchu says that he will give them a last chance. First, he activates a mechanism that begins to lower Ms Chekmeneva to the pit, and afterwards, activates the base self-destruction mechanism. If they can save their friend and fight versus the warriors before the base explode, they will survive! And he gives them the chance because his daughter has ask him ‘Is it not true, Fa Lo Shue?’. And Li Tang Mei discover her disguise!!

And then, after forcing them to leave their weapons, Fu Manchu and his daughter leave the room through a secret passageway. The fight begins for some heroes, as other search for something to stop the mechanism that is lowering the girl to the snakes (four new markers are placed on the board)!!

Benito finds a metal bar and give it to Bruno Steimer. Mean while, Harry Devil and Kellar fights the terracotta warriors and Mahmoud Medina, but the bad guys are hard, and Kellar falls unconscious to the ground. There are some bad coordination between the heroes, and when the Prof. Pim runs to try to stop the gas that threaten to explode the base, some of them think that he is running away and follow him, leaving their comrades at disadvantage. You can see the gas markers at the picture. Each turn there was a chance that more gas markets would be placed on a room, and at the end of the turn, if a 6 was rolled on a 1d6 the room was on fire (adding a +1 for each gas market present). When the five rooms were on fire, the base will explode.

The scenario looks bad to the players. At disadvantage, Bruno is the only one that tries to rescue Miss Chekmeneva, meanwhile Harry Devil fights two terracotta zombies and can not disengage them. Despite the efforts of Bruno, he can not rescue the heroine because a terracotta warrior throw him to the pit, where he dies (he was a grade 1 guy).

The base is going to explode, and the heroes who are not in the Dr. room go back, leaving their mates behind.

The bad guys try to leave the tomb before it explodes, too, but the corridor is set on fire as they passes through!!

Only one room is not on fire, but the next turn it will be for sure (because the room had gas inside, and there were more than six gas markers on board), and so the tomb will explode! Harry Devil is still in the room, as Kellar and Chekmeneva. It is impossible for them to arrive to the exit, so they have a last opportunity: to find the secret passageway. He disengages the terracotta warrior from combat and runs to the throne. He has to pass a Brains test of 10 on 1d10. It is difficult but not impossible. The player throws the dice and… fails!!

The base explodes! Prof. Pim, Benito and Dubois has escaped, but in the tomb were three of their friends… Are they dead o have they survived the explosion!?!?!?

We do not know, at least until the next scenario is played: Death in Shanghai!!

Here ends the campaign until now. Thank you very much. Hope you like it.

Very nice scenarios and writeup.
Not to forget all the terrain. I will await the next 'book/chapter' in this very exciting story.:)
Then it is always fun to see if it possible to recognise all the stuff in the pictures
and of course to borrow ideas.

Nice use of the Hirst Arts stuff. How did you "weather" the large stone vertical blocks?

The ones at the first scenario? They were painted very simple, as we had not much time to prepare them for the game. They were painted in dark brown and then drybashed with a cream color (pale yelow), both with paints used for houses (not miniatures).

There was a great pulp feel to these scenarios, with interesting characters and fantastic settings. Very enjoyable!  :-*
