Two of the Sweetwater big fishes. I like both entries, Frank´s  captures the atmosphere of the movie very well, while Regulator´s is very colourful. Tough choice.

Two great entries gents! The Gorgoroth one is great, the dark background makes it especially sinister. While the other entry has so many great bold colours... Difficult.

I went through all the entries backward. The only thing I know is that the poll with my picture was very on top. So I talked to myself with every step nearer to my post 'Oh no, where's Frank's?'. Then i came to mine and hold my breath - here he is...

Really nicely done, Frank. I am not a fan of Lord of the rings but your painting is amazing and your photogrphy puts mine in shadows. On a good challenge.

Wow! an amazing match up...Love the background and "feel" of frank's entry....while I love pretty much everything about Regulators...Puff and Slash is a weakness of mine...excellent work both of you!

Cheers,

@Regulator: Thank you! Your “Landsknechte” are fantastic and I like your Impetus project. Really looking forward to see some more bases!

The landsknecht are from Artizan aren't they - I have some on the go at the moment
I'm particularly impressed by the flags - are they hand painted on linen or something :o/

The mounted fig ? Foundry?

@ Regulator, this level of details and overall amazing paintjob is really fantastic particularly from someone your age… just tell me you started painting at 2 so I won’t give up painting and  go hide in shame ;)

Thank you again. Yes, the pikeblock is from Arizan - only the doppelsöldner on the far right is from Foundry. The mounted commadner and the left banner bearer is from Fundry, too. The flags are printed on linen, but i gave it some extra layers. The new ones are avaible here: http://progloriaminiatures.blogspot.com/

And I started paintign with 6  ;)

A really, really outstanding matchup! The first entry is really dark and I think it's darker than the movie even, thugh I haven't seen it in a while. The second entry is equally great but a bit more colourful. In the end it was a tough decision between atmosphere or colour but well, I'm a sucker for colour ;)
