BTD Zulu Wars sale now on
« on: 29 March 2011, 12:42:36 PM »
For those brave souls willing to risk ordering:

http://www.blacktreedesign.com/uk/home.php?cat=2509

30% off already reasonable prices. Four zulus for £3.85 is a pretty good deal and they are very nice figures.

If only I was wealthy enough to throw away money on a bet that I will see a return.

If the offer is still on when I get paid I may risk a small order!

I mean, experience has taught me that they do eventually turn-up and the delays appears to effect some range more than others! (Dr Who stuff once took so long I had moved on by the time some Daleks arrived but WW2 Americans arrived in 2 weeks!)

I have risked a small order, but as I live down the road from them now I can always pay them a visit! lol

Discsussion of BTD's service was on TMP last week.  I'm the guy who ordered on a Tuesday, and received the figs (all of their gladiators) on Friday, and had them based and primed by Saturday night.  "John" from BTD sent an email and included a note in the package that one pack was on back-order, but that he would forward it to me ASAP when he gets it.  I live in Wisconsin.  Good service as far as I'm concerned.  Apparently, though, I might be a sock puppet, although that is news to me.

Trouble is, I never much liked their Zulu line...at least not the Brits.

The Zulus are much nicer and well worth the sale price. I have a few partially painted and really like them. I will try to get a pic posted with some Copplestone DA stuff if you like.

As for their service, I can honestly say every order I've placed with them has arrived either within a couple of weeks or soon after. Even when the odd item has been missing due to low stock, they have sent it on asap - on one occasion some Silurians travelled from their US stockist  :o

I personally have no problem whatsoever with them, but am fully aware of others' frustrations.

Mind you, I do have the full Jedi Master's mind-control abilities   lol

...all of their gladiators...

What are they like in the bare metal?  How do they compare with other makes?

I'd be well interested in those comparison pics, cheers.  :)
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

Here you go:

Copplestone Zande and two figures from the BTD Zulu Chiefs pack. BTD are slightly taller figures, but then the Zulus were often very imposing chaps in real life. They work fine together as far as I'm concerned.
