The painting on both entries is great but the composition and over all effect of the lion hunt is magnificent.  Wow.

The Bugbears are really, really good. Unfortunately the lion scene is amazing.

Thank you!!!  :D

@Admiral Benbow: the lions are made by Primaeval Designs http://achesoncreations.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=60&Itemid=1...

They have some beautiful miniatures, but they are also very expensive.

As already noted, the bugbears are great, especially the mix between old & new school minis.

Unfortunately, the lion hunt is absolutely brilliant, PJ and composition.

These were completely new to me. But they should ask you to paint the miniatures for their online catalog.

Frank, another question: what kind of camera are you using? And what are your settings?

The vote totals do not accurately reflect the agony of picking one from these two. I am sure that many people had as hard a time as me.

Though, I have to admit to trying to NOT look at the setting and just the quality of the painting. It is just not very easy when two people do such an awesome job setting the mood of the scene.

I opened this entry, saw the amazing bugbears  :-* and almost didn't scroll down to see the second picture - "Job done", I thought. But then... those lions  :-* :-*

I've spent longer on this decision than on any other entry, and the first time I've felt I had to make a comment other than my vote.

At the risk of sounding redundant, "Bloody hell Frank! That is inspiring and perfectly executed."  :-*

Hi Hammers,
My camera is an old Olympus E-500. My settings are a manuell shutter speed of 1/3 sec up to 1 sec and a automatic aperture. I am using up to 5 differnet small lightspots and often I try a lot of different angels an distances to find the perfect athmosphere.

...and thank you all for your kind words!!!

you need a minimum of three lights for eliminating unwished shadows. A lot of picture are made with frontal flashlight and there are unwished shadows or to bright colors.
