Now that LPL Round 5 is well-and-truly over, I thought that folks might like to see some individual photographs of the Reaper Chronoscope Zulus from my entry (particularly since the rear rankers were somewhat obscured by the need to crowd them all in for the photo):

Leopard skin capes:

It was always my intention to use Empress Zulu "Movie" Brits for an entry this year, even before the Africa theme was announced. When the theme was announced, I was going to order some Zulus from Empress to form my second team but I was was concerned about getting them in time from overseas. That being the case, I went with the Reaper Zulus because I knew that I could get them quickly from Miniature Giant. I had the same problem in LPL3 for round 10- Reaper Cavemen weren't my first choice, figure-wise (I would have preferred Copplestone or Pulp Figures), but I knew that I could get the Reaper ones in time to make an entry.
I also like the Reaper Zulus because they have a lot of personality (they look like chiefs, more than just like standard generic Zulu Warriors). In the event, I started work on my Zulu team first, because I didn't have any experience painting African skin and I wanted to leave myself a lot of lead time in case I needed to re-do it. As it happened, their skin worked out well first crack out of the box, but I kept watching the Zulu film for reference and I saw that leopard skin elements were very popular (at least on-screen) so I was stuck doing a lot of finnicky leopard skin for my entry. That took up all my time and it meant that my Empress Brits got pushed back to round 6.
