Dyaks: Again
« on: April 20, 2011, 08:03:17 PM »
The Dyaks continue,

Here's what's done so far.  They're not holding coffee cup handles.  That thing in their left hands is the handle for the sheild that isn't painted yet.

Two different manufacturers; Eureka, and the 'other company' whose name Bimbashi Lewis will undoubtedly contribute in a later post.

Nice. I particularly like the fellow with the blowpipe. Do you have a war canoe for this lot?

They are not mine,

But I have to believe that 'Bimbashi Lewis' has a plethora of canoes.

Wow, they really look great, Major Weenie !

The "other company" than Eureka is - - -

Scheltrum miniatures

Scheltrum released two different lengths of war canoes in resin.  I bought two of each and chopped 'em to make a total of four warboats, including one which is so long that it may look too 'silly' for me.  I'll try to get a link.

(EDIT:  Here they are:  http://www.scheltrum.co.uk/dyaks.html  )

The (easily available ?) Old Glory Pirate Range Cannibal Canoes are similar enough to make me happy, and they are already painted.

Chick,

Anybody make Burmese war boats/canoes ?

I'm back onto building that Burmese army again.

1.) Local levies = Foundry Tai Ping Rebels,
2.) Regular army = Perry plastic ACW with bare feed and a pith helmet
3.) Palace Guard = Copplestone Zanzibari regulars, with a pith helmet instead of a fez.

But what about the boats?

Regards,
MW
