Trophy Hunt
« on: 30 April 2011, 07:21:55 PM »
Another Strange Aeons run-out tonight: Trophy Hunt in which the leader of the Threshold Agents, sneaks off to bag himself a Lurker trophy...so it's a 1-on-1 scrap. I chose a Nightgaunt for the Lurker [using, I think, a GW Vampire familiar?]:

Set-up: Lurker won the role for table edge & set up in the railway buildings; Special Agent Johnson enters on the road:

Lurker wins the first turn and the Nightgaunt flies low towards Johnson:

In response, Johnson runs forward towards the danger, trying to get the Lurker in range of his Tommy gun:

He hits the hovering Lurker and takes one of its two wounds just as it hurtles into him:

Johnson fails his resolve test as the Hideous Daemon screeches into him - but his reaction to his fear is to become Frenzied [doubling his CC attacks]:

In a frantic and desperate combat, Johnson is wounded:

...but manages to take down the winged monstrosity [face down] - but the Nightgaunt rolls over [face up] to defend himself in the next round of combat:

Johnson is still terrified and this spurs him on to a flurry of lethal attacks with his trusty Bowie knife, taking the Nightgaunt out [Major Injury]:

Post-game: Johnson earns a new Skill and takes a Trophy   8)

Very cool!

Btw, those red dice - I have a couple myself from my Combat Zone box. I find that they roll better and more even results then the crap dice I have from GW and other sources (but of the same style). It has to be those sharper edges.

They are nice - I've got a feeling they came from an 'official' D&D set a friend gave me a few years ago...

It was close...with some lucky rolling on his part - if he'd not taken it out then I think he'd be regretting sneaking off in the early hours without his compadres..!

I love your 10mm Strange Aeons games. I´m thinking about preparing something in this scale for me.
