Thanks for the kind words folks.

Most of my paintjob colors were influenced by other folks like Grimm and the Prof, so I guess we're all a little samey-same-same. I wasn't too worried about sameness because from my research there was only so many shades of brown, grey, beige and khaki clothes back in those days. My fear of vibrant colors means things like painting pretty much anything Japanese (samurai, anime, etc) will never happen.  lol

I prefer a muted palette myself. Excellent figures!  :-*

Here are some of my pulp heroes and villains for my Egyptian inspired locale. I painted a second set of my re-occurring heroes in Egyptian basing.  :D

Some Mummies too (very Scooby-Doo-ish)

Your models are VERY WELL painted, way over "tabletop" level.

Now, about your tomb items (enter sarcasm mode) THEY'RE TERRIBLE! YOU MUST INMEDIATELY THROW THEM AWAY! (and then, tell me exactly where, so I can go and get them  ;)  - end of sarcasm mode).

Now, seriously, I'm sure you're very proud of all of these pieces, and man, you got DUPLICATES for your heros!

That is another level of involvement, and must be a pleasure to play with your minis and scenery.

Thanks for sharing your work with us.

Best wishes.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Love them - I think you've done a great job.

The treasure items look particularly effective.

You will have a great game with these!

Your collection is really something buddy.

I nearly fell off my chair when I realized you painted two sets of the same heroes, just with different bases  lol

If I may give just a tad of (constructive) criticism, I think the tomb pieces could use a bit more colour. Egyptian artefacts usually are adorned with a lot of enamels and coloured stones, especially blue, green, red, black, and sometimes white (alabast). I know it's a heck of a task to do, though - I fear the day I'm beginning to do some of my collected pieces...

Are the mummies Copplestone, too, or are there som Westwind in there?

How's that for commitment!?  o_o

Thanks for the crit on the tomb peices Argonor. I went with straight up gold for simplicity's sake. Plus the fact players will think "oooo shiney" instead of disregarding all my hard colored stone work. When I was planning on painting these pieces, I did a bit of research and thought "oh gawd" at the work that would be involved.

The mummies are all West Wind. Including the Mummy King figure.

Heh, yeah. Sometimes painting up terrain pieces is really 'pearls for swine'.

I had a feeling about the mummies, I just couldn't remember how the old Copplestone figs (fig?) look like.

Very nice work :-* :-* :-*
Can't believe you painted two versions of the same figure that is dedication.
Where is the belly dancer from? She is very very nice.
I think the gold pieces are great, I really like that colour of gold. Do you have a recipe?

Thanks GM. The belly dancer is a Reaper figure.

For my gold recipe, it's all done with craft paints. Base coat is DecoArt Americana "Asphaltum" which is a great proxy for GW Scorched Brown, then a drybrush of DecoArt Metallics "Venetian Gold" and finally another drybrush of DecoArt Metallics "Splendid Gold". Very simple and very effective.

Has it really been 4 years since I added anything to this post?  lol Well some of you have seen the table set up I posted in my thread for "Gripping Tales of Adventures" ages and ages ago here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=32265.0 so I thought I'd update things a bit with a new terrain piece for my perilous jungle locales.

Originally intended to be one of two treelines to skirt my Vietnam village, I figured it would get much more use in my pulp setting. The base is a pre-cut MDF shape from Tony at East Riding Miniatures.

Pardon the crap pics, but I'm really hating taking pics these days.
