Canonade show Falkirk (Pic heavy)
« on: May 07, 2011, 04:53:46 PM »
Went to the Falkirk wargames show today and had a very good day. Very nice show and very busy. Good selection of tables and traders. First picture of one of the big halls. Two halls like this and two smaller halls.http://

Ironclad had a very nice display. With some new set I had not seen before.

A very nice display game with Vikings

A lovely Indian mutiny table with some great buildings

The game I would really have like to play looked great. A great escape game with some very nice scenery. Didn’t get a chance to play it before we left but it looked a lot of fun

The bottom picture, the guy is holding pokémon cards, was that the combat system of that game?  lol

Actually if you search the web you can find a "fanfiction" of pokemon writen like a WWI report, with the monsters being used like terror weapons. It is quite, interesting.

Some great looking games, love the mutiny one and the Mutineer miniatures. They are very hard to resist.
I must pick up that pack of armed house keepers from John Ironclad. I have use for the shotgun wielding butler :)

My brother and his pal both bought stuff of you.
My brother "AndyM" got some snow troopers. Very nice.

Super pictures, especially the one featuring my tummy!. I really enjoyed the show too, though I felt the Indian Mutiny game was clearly the best by a country mile...

Ask him to post pictures of them when they are painted please.I would love to see other versions of them

Had a great time chatting with lots of people about all things miniature.

I was really surprised at how big the show was.

There seems to be a lot of tummy in the photos. Which one is yours?

Table was not that wide. I don't think they really any problem reaching over.

Looks like a really good show. A lot larger than I expected too.

The Mutiny table is lovely and has evolved since I last saw it. The Great escape looks superb too, was it based around the one Ebob has/had on his site? I remember card downloads for the huts etc. some years back. Really liked the train station bit on the edge so that Gordon Jackson could fluff his lines if he managed to get out!

Theres no stopping Yankeepedlar is there. Paints about 200 figs a day, plays multiple games weekly at GHQ and still gets to ALL the shows irrespective of where they are ;D  I am not in the slightest bit jealous of him and Mr Robinson  :'(

Strangely enough I thought the India Mutiny table was a failure.  It strongly subscribed to the "lets get as many miniatures as we can onto this table" approach to wargames shows.  As a result there was stuff, literally, everywhere, so much so that it was impossible to figure out what, if anything, was actually happening.  By contrast he Borodino game, though it also had lots of excellent 28mm figures on the table, was much more purposeful and thus was a far better looking game.
