1602
« on: 27 May 2011, 07:31:41 PM »
Hi All,

I'd like to do some miniatures based on the Marvel comic 1602. I painted this for the LPL as part of the characters of Treasure Island, but all the while I was thinking: Daredevil. 8) lol

Has anybody got any ideas for other heroes from 1602?
I've looked at some of the Foundry Elizabethans and there's no doubt stuff that will work, but any other options are more than welcome!

(Ha, my first proper post!)

God damn it! I did not need another project on my workbench and you go and post this...

Use the old clix Ben Grimm and sculpt pantaloons on him, also the Promo "Mighty Thor" from some American con is a pretty close match for his costume in 1602.

Go on, you know you want to. :D

I'll have  a look at the clix models.

Thanks!

Cool idea, hope to see more! Been a long time since I read 1602 so don't remember much.

Captain America should be a piece of cake - just any old native american with braids painted with blonde hair should do the trick. Nick Fury likewise. A little eye patch in green stuff on a pilgrim type guy and you're mint.

I think you're right on the Captain America (Rohjaz) front. And your idea for Fury makes sense. But I'm looking for a good monk model for Magneto and I haven't figured out Dr. Strange either. Although I'm thinking of using some model of Cardinal Richelieu.  Thoughts anyone?

Brigade Games makes a passable Richelieu as part of their Musketeers and Swashbucklers line:

In fact, you might be able to cobble together a decent bunch of 1602 X-men from that line, or their Buccaneers line as well:

The Green Arrow should be an easy one to do for this period.
