Botocudo warriors?

I have this copplestone set where a few warriors have shields. Has anyone painted this up? Did you use any designs on the shields and where did you find the references. I can find none.

I did a few but cant post link whilst at work. The sheilds are said to be a mix depending on sources Hemmings Red Gold. Some were bark, others Manitee skin whilst others cow hide. I went with cow hide (think Zulu shields)

I'd be inclined to go with bark. These people were centred on Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo in the south east of the country,ranging up as far as southern Bahia. Not many manatees in that part of the world, in fact none. Quite a lot of cows nowadays, MG is famous for its dairy industry, especially the local cheeses but not surprisingly very few at the time of European contact  

Here's a video or two showing a collection of old and more or less contemporary stills. No shields that I could see but may be useful for painting.
