oh ... well ... yes ^^
it is not quite well to see. I tried the skin with it. Painted on a relatively light priming ... with some very light green (PaleFlesh) and very light blue (I think, it is LightSeaGray or something ...), ElfSkinTone and somehting lighter than BleachedBone for the hair and ElfSkinTone again for the the sewn close sacrs.
All of it washed with ThrakaGreen and/or AzurmenBlue ... then deepened again the GreenWash with BlueWash and vice versa. Afterwards I BaalRed-ed the Scars.

Maybe another pic with better light will show the "trick" ...

An good trend showing there. Beautiful work - I have always worked with washes over base coat, and then retouch colors, but I think I going to give wetblending a go with my next army.  Admirable work you have here though.

funny ...  ^^

Though I am not much into wetblending, I always wanted to try. But now - since seeing this (in my opinion) advanced foundry-style in here or from the Prof himself - I really want to try it that way. In my other "be there often"-forum (in German) nearly every hint or tip or suggestion is: thinner, more layers, try wetblending, look here, etc. ... but I realized, that minis painted that wetblending-way just have much too much of attention, so it is hard to use them on the battlefield. However, I am still into this technique, when it comes to female minis. These NEED softer layers and such. So I still can increase my skill with females  ;D

So ... one of MY gaols is to master this foundry-style more and get away from this wetblending-way/style ... funny ^^

best wishes and thanx again for all these compliments!

some tests with skin colour

The pinky whitebread to the left worked best, due to more training with that colour, I guess. But I like the dark-skinned one, too. The "Asian-style" seems tro be a little to yellow in a way. But then ... for tabletop it is ok, I guess. Makes it more distinct. hair and snakes are still WIP. 'Not sure, what do do with them. I could train some scale-patterns ... uhm ... well ... no plan ...

The minis itself is some old blister from confro. Nor rules for this one, just three each-alike-add-on-pillars as markers or such.

the story goes on ...

due to some testing, I thought this model might be great to hard-core use the washes even more! At least for the "water-parts" of the model. It is a water-elemental from Confro.
I used the GW-washes (mainly blue and green for the water) over the white primer! and ogryn after sepia for the "coraline" parts over something like komando-khaki.
Also I used some P3 (warmachine series) inks (blue and green) for deepening the waterly effect.

Finally I brushed over the lighter and more untouched parts with simple white ... for wave-foaming effects.

I am thinking about making just the water-parts glossy ... not sure at the moment, though.

Both the Pillar Chicks & the Water Elemental are VERY COOL & WELL DONE!
I'd offer my opinion on the gloss coat for the water, but I can't decide either...I will gush over your decision whichever way you go .

thanks! I am very pleased with that one, too. It turned out rather well.

I think, I WILL try it in glossy-style for the watery-parts. The crusted shell should stay, I think. Even if it's just for the contrast. And I think, sprayed wetness from the "waves" will not have any good effect in that size.

thanks again & best wishes

so ... while working on "the 6th league" I've done some other bloody jobs (to relax ^^), too. I tried some massive blood-splatter on my Iron-Guard from Chronopia's FirstBorn.

I think, I overdid it with one of the champions to the right (VERY bloody battle), but since it's a dark-fantasy system anyway - maybe it is not so bad at all. ^^

I have done it with Brown-Ink (P3) and simple BloodRed (Vallejo) and lots of water. And I did NOT use any Tamia-red, since the glossy effect from that one won't work, because I use matt-varnish after finishing the minis, anyway.
The technique I used is a very wet/soaked color on the brush, then blow/puff it on the mini. Though it is tricky to control, it is a very random splatter in all results.  lol
I also used these minis, because they are good ones to train this splatter-technique, because ... whatever one can do to these minis will only improve them ;)

What TERRIFIC Little Characters! It's a shame you missed out on the LPL; I'm sure the Vertically Challenged Pirates would have done well. VERY WELL DONE!
