Amazing work, Colonel!  :o You don't need anyone to tell you you've set up quite a task for yourself there. Agreed, much better to make sure everything is secure before sealing it up. I do like the rivet work - I wish I could get results just as good. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished result in action.  :)

Some amazing work there, Colonel!
You have SOME patience.
Rivets- You add them, I take them away!
I dont know how many were on the GW shrine of Aquila model;

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440312a&prodId=prod40001a

But I cut them ALL off along with the lights, wires and any other signs of technology to build one wall of a temple.( http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=30667.0 )

I just wish there was a way to donate these things, you would have been more than welcome! ;)

Thanks for the inspiration, though. I am looking for ways to modify my Mordheim stuff to a crazy Atlantis themed city for VSF adventures and your work certainly helps.

sitting and reading here with an open mouth!  :o

Love to see the progress! I am also very interested how You will paint the in- and under-sides of this wlaker in the whell area. Or maybe a) it is just attached, not glued or something or b) later not to be seen?

questions and wonders ^^

The wheel is not yet attached - it's just held in place by an axle. I'll glue it, the engine, the head and other bits together only when I really need to.

The wheel will definitely be seen! There are 336 rivets on that piece alone! Why waste it?!

Glad you're liking it so far. I'll be updating on my blog regularly.

Just a question as to the legs will they be open lattice work (like a crane or the Loveless spider from Wild Wild West) or closed (like a Star Wars AT-AT) ?
gan canny kidder!

I've considered both and to be honest, I haven't yet decided. I'm leaning towards the open design (possibly round holes through girder-style construction) but haven't come up with a design I really like yet.

Part of the problem is knowing how big the need to be so as not to look stupid. Additionally, they really do have to support the weight of the model - I have always regretted having a plastic support for my previous walker (pictured) so a lot more thought will go into the functionality of the legs this time, as well as the style.

It's going to be a long job...
