Interesting report. What are your thoughts about C&C Napoleonice? Did you make the large hex board yourself?

Hi Doug,
We really like it - and the more we play it the more we appreciate the complexities.

More reports can be found on my blog at this link

and/or over here

The hex mat is a custom job done by Hotz, but I think he's doing this as a standard choice now (with flank markers etc.)

Cheers

Thanks for info and links - I've had peer at the blogs; good stuff. How long do you find the games take? Do you make your own scenarios or just use those provided with the game or in expansions? I'm tempted by this concept. I've got theC&C Ancients but haven't tried them with miniatures.

My only reservation is those hills. I think I'd want something a little less blocky but otherwise, you may have got me hooked.

Cheers

Hi Doug,
Games take about an hour, depending on the scenario - but I'd say that's the usual.
At the moment, we're happy with the scenarios from the game - we've done a couple of scenarios ourselves, and will probably do more of that as time goes by. Certainly if we follow our habits from Battle Cry and Memoir '44

I hear you on the hills though, I may have suggested we cut them in half myself that day!

Cheers
Donogh
