Tyranid spore mines as Mi-Go slaves
« on: July 05, 2011, 11:36:37 PM »
I'm fiddling with some spore mines to make them into Mi-Go slaves.
Basically the brains taken from humans are put into these to serve as slaves.
the spores come in three types acid, frag and poison.
What kind of attacks could they have the same?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Some sort of telepathic surge or something.
Like every few turns the brain can reach out and sever the stem of a human foe's cerebrum/shut their brain off and reprogram it.
A few rounds later and the dead human's brain rises as another brain monster.

You could scrap the Mi-go idea all together and just make some sort of communally minded lovecraftian race of floating aliens, or even a single being that exists in multiple, small, brain-like bodies and attacks in swarms!

The brain-stem-cutting idea sounds brilliant!

How about some sort of feedback thing? One brain can discharge an electrical pulse at a short distance with a feeble amplitude (or whatever it tend to be that hurts us... I haven't done any Physics for years...), two amplify that, three moreso four even deadlier, etc...

Or maybe not...
