Sources of 15mm scale Soviets?
« on: August 01, 2011, 06:15:51 AM »
Hello all!

I'm scoping out the potential for a project, and am at a loss for Soviet infantry of the 15mm scale, ranging the years from the late forties through to the Soviets in Afghanistan. I figure WWII Russians won't be hard to come by, but am without similar thoughts in relation to Afghanistan.

Mainly looking for troops with bedrolls across their chests, a few wedges (though mostly helmets), and figures from the time when the AK-47 assault rifle became available.
Everything is better with lizardmen.

For the modern stuff QRF do some and Quality Castings. Eureka are due to launch a very modern range soon but they may be too late for your use.

There was a small company that did a specific range for the Afghan war but I can't remember the name and I think they went under years ago.

QRF and Peter Pig have all you need for the USSR in the 1917-1991 era: Russian Civil War (Peter Pig), WWII (Peter Pig and QRF) and 1970's-1980's (Peter Pig and QRF). Plus tons of vehicles (especially by QRF)!

Ah! Thanks a tonne, guys!

Eureka are due to launch a very modern range soon but they may be too late for your use.

Good to hear. I'm just scouting my options for right now, so I've got the time. Thanks for suggesting where to start looking.
