Dark Age paper models?
« on: 08 August 2011, 08:40:44 AM »
Anyone knows of 28 mm Dark Age paper model scenery available out there?

A-frame houses, Viking longhouses, maybe ship models (longships, knarrs, other types), all that kind of stuff.

I am diving into - yet another - setting, and having essentially only just the money needed for some minis available (my wife might kill me if I bought some expensive resin stuff right now... window frames have to be replaced, bushes and roses for the garden have to bought...), and hardly the time for even get something painted (garden is still sucking up my life-force atm), I would like some cheap, fast and easy to build models...
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

There are a couple of models on my paper models page that might do the job for you, though they're scaled for 20-25mm rather than 28mm. It would be easy enough to resize them in any image-editing program though.

Thanks.

A nice concept if one wants to try out some rules without having to buy and paint a lot of minis, first, but generally a bit too 2D for my taste.

I am going to play Brytenwalda and (maybe, if I can keep my boat in the water long enough) Age of Blood, both of which needs individually based minis.

I am also going to try out Basic Impetus, but I already have most of an early republican Roman army ready, and also enough minis for a Celtic counterpart (I think), otherwise the paper standees might have come in handy for testing the rules.

No worries, I understand! They aren't of the best quality as it goes. Either way I hope you find what you're looking for and best of luck with the rules and games! Sure you'll have a blast!
