Verte Vipere is the secret identity of Marie Montcalm, beautiful assistant to the Deputy of Foreign Affairs in an important European Capital.

Her skills-and twin Colt .45's- will see action in an upcoming Dragon Bones adventure.

Something about your lady's French nom de plume bothered me (it looked backwards, remembering my lessons from 40-odd years ago!) so I checked things out using the Google translator.  If you're thinking of her as Green Viper, Google does translate that as vert vipère (no e on the end).  However, as soon as you refer to her as The Green Viper, it changes to la vipère verte! Maybe one of our French-speaking members could explain the difference.

The difference is that google translate doesn't understand context or really grammer. You can't really say 'green viper' in French without knowing whether it's 'a' green viper (as in, a viper, that is green) - une vipère verte - or 'the' Green Viper, someone called 'Viper' who wears green (or, conceviably, 'the green viper over there') - la Vipère Verte (or la vipère verte, là-bas). Either way, it's noun + adjective unlike English adjective + noun, and you need an article of some kind.

So 'vert vipère' doesn't really mean anything, except, possibly, 'viper green' or 'viperish green' - in other words, 'green like a viper', 'the colour that a snake is'. But that might in fact be 'vipérine' anyway...

Grammer aside, it's a cool mini and a nice colour scheme there 'prof... you know I have a thing for French assassinatrices, I really will paint up Anna-Baptiste and her silent apprentice, Marie-Celeste one of these days... but, I see you've branched out from Privateer! That, sir, is just  :o wrong!

Thanks for clearing up the confusion....ahhhh o_o... I'll just have to stay with English, but "Green Snake that is a Viper with a Deadly Bite" just doesn't soon as cool ;D.

Shush, don’t tell Privateer, but I do need a Reaper fix every now and then. ;)

Prof...

I saw the other day that Froggy the Great had painted a non-Reaper mini, so it all evens out I think... let's just never mention it again!
