Hello to all! Been visiting this forum for years, lurking in the shadows, looking enviously at some of the fantastic painting and modelling skills on offer, receiving inspiration by the bucket load and now I've finally joined - don't know why I didn't before, but I just picked up Triumph and Tragedy, had a rule question and....here I am.
Started collecting and painting in 1979 (eleven years old, very bad painter back then!) mostly with Citadel, Ral Partha minis and anything else that fitted into my self created fantasy world - dark ages, medievals, landsknechts, all sorts, devised my own rules and spent many of my early teen years in my parent's loft playing on a piece of green material used for snooker tables draped over Ladybird books and encyclopedias for hills and valleys. Played solitaire too - no friends shared my hobby unfortunately.
Of course by the age of fifteen, girls and music came along and my first love was left gathering dust in the loft (the minis that is, not my first girlfriend!)
Not until my late twenties did my interest re-emerge - once I was married and had a son. I love painting, and wish I had more hours in the day to concentrate on getting all the various projects finished - something that I seem to struggle to do, and something that I'm sure most members of this forum will sympathize with.
Gaming wise - anything that grabs my imagination, Old West, scifi (not 40k anymore, AE Bounty is a fave at the moment), fantasy, WW2, dark ages, etc etc, I'd like to collect all periods and types but not enough time or money. My latest big interest is pulp and interwar period but I need to do a LOT of painting before I can get some decent games going.
Anyhow, that's enough of my boring waffle, just wanted to say "hello!"
