Painting Beja using oil paints
« on: 13 August 2011, 08:43:29 PM »
I asked a few months ago about some ideas to paint Beja warriors quickly and have had a go with oil paints... see the results at:

I think they look great.

So you paint on the black oil and then sponge off the high points?

Great idea...works a treat on horses too. I use the same method for resin scenics, buildings and stuff as well.

Thanks.  I literally painted on the black oil paint then sponged it straight off.  My only advice would be to get some DIY sponges and chop them up into lots of small pieces, as you need to be quite vigourous when removing the paint, and have to keep replacing the sponge or trimming the used edge off with scissors.

Good luck!
