Life's a Witch - WIP
« on: August 24, 2011, 12:12:30 PM »
So, I've been doing some sculpting:

It is going to be a witch that I can use for gaming the "modern" end of the supernatural. I'm taking some cues from the Hellboy book "The Crooked Man" which shows a coven of witches in the late 50s.

She will probably look a little more gypsy-like instead of this:

I've had this idea kicking around for a while, finally worked up the courage to do it! Also, my fiancee found me a cork.

So, any feedback so far? I've read lots of tutes before getting started, but any help will be greatly appreciated!

A great start.

I've found it's far easier sculpting 'ugly' models than nice/elegant, if you make a bit of a mess, well it just adds to the charm of the mini!

Thanks for the feedback so far guys :) I've filled out the body a little bit more now. The only thing I'm stuck on is the clothing, so I'm going to do some research before getting stuck into that part.

I have a few ideas for what she'll be holding... a cane/staff, maybe a skull.

What would be useful from a gaming point of view? A spell-casting wave of the hand? Maybe both arms cradling a skull, or a book even?

Tell me your thoughts!

Well, I went ahead and tried out her clothes. Not a bad result so far, I think. But I'm always open to suggestions!

Well, I've made quite a bit of progress now, so I took her out to catch some sunshine.

Can anyone spot a problem with casting this figure with the current pose? I would be interested in parting with it once its done, if anyone is interested.

Here it is:
