Prices? Preorders? The Midwestern US needs more ships.

Sorry, I believe only coastal states in the USA will be getting priority, since those are open ocean vessels.

;-)

Perhaps you could make do with a nice raft, or canoe?

Agreed though, would like to know more about availability, pricing, and shipping costs to the USA, as soon as that has been worked out.

Boarding parties in a canoe are disastrous....

Yea, I can see how that could be an issue.

Boarding parties FROM the canoe(s) are the ticket, since the victims may not even suspect people to attempt that, and/or on fairly windless days, won't be able to get away.  The ships's crews might think the canoeists are simple traders, or fisherman until they snuggle up beside the larger craft, and draw their pistols, and by then it is too late.

A few vessels off Cuba were taken in this manner.

Cuba?
I was referring to the Scenic River ways in Missouri. Many a drunkin' beer cooler raids have ended in a dumped canoe....

Amateurs!

If drunken pirates in canoes can sail/paddle hundreds of miles across shark-infested waters, surely college kids can weather a small rapid after a few cans.

Perhaps if we added sharks, or piranhas into the mix, they'd be a bit more motivated to stay upright in the boat.
