These Panzer III G are painted to resemble the first panzers that arrived in North Africa during the near collapse of the Italian army because of the British counterattack.
The Germans had to scramble an stopping force to bolster the Italian positions.
The plan was to stop the British offensive and fight it to a standstill so they could concentrate on the more important and all deciding eastern front.
The newly appointed commander of this Africa force, Rommel had other plans and went on the offensive even before all of his tropes had even arrived.
These Panzers on the pictures are still wearing the panzer gray base coat and the markings for the 3rd Panzer Division that they originally were intended for.
