SAS in Oman 1970 (pictures added page 3)

I am looking for suitable figures to skirmish this conflict would prefer 28mm but will do 20mm if needs must.
I have been unable to find any, so was hoping someone here could point me in the right direction.

Eureka minis do an small but excellent Rhodesian bush wars range. the "white" Rhodesian troops should fit the bill for the SAS. The are armed with a mis of FN/FALs and AR15/M16s. they also are wearing short shorts.(very period) The also have aboriginal and polynesian figs whose heads may be good swaps for a couple of figs to turn them into more convincing Fijian troopers.Your friend will need a 25 pounder for a top secret,(but rather famous) engagement. Take your pick from any good WW2 range. The rebels? trickier.I will have a little play on Google images then get back to you.

We are currently preparing a similar background “briefing” for the Aden Emergency.

As for Oman, we believe that the Aden figures will also be suitable for Oman as it was just a few years later so that weapons and equipment would be very similar. In fact we’ve been looking very carefully at all the conflicts in South Arabia around that time, both the official and the “unofficial” which were fought by mercenaries, often ex-British Special Forces, and think this is also an under-represented period. However we are new company, just starting out and it will take a little time to develop the figure ranges.

 Commando Miniatures philosophy is to supply everything a wargamer needs when starting out in a particular period, so buildings, vehicles, boats and other equipment are all in the pipeline.

All we can say is keep track of the website and watch out for developments. If things take a little longer than we intended, please bear with us – we would rather get it right than make basic mistakes.

Funny, I was planning to commission a range for Aden from Eureka, after the Portuguese are complete. Who is sculpting the commando stuff? Might save myself a quid or two.

I have the Osprey on the Malaysian campaign and thought what a great setting for skirmish games...

Will be keeping an eye out for developments on commando miniatures definitely!

I've been interested in these wars ever since I used Malaysia and Aden/Oman as prime examples whilst doing Counterinsurgency at University, low intensity wars but very interesting nonetheless.
