Hjärnor (or Brains in english!)
« on: September 07, 2011, 11:08:34 AM »
Here are a couple of pics from the event Gubbspel Galore II that took place in Göteborg, Sweden this last weekend. We had great fun, and had the opportunity to try a lot of really nice games, of wich some has been seen here on LAF: Anpu´s Fall out board, Vikotnik´s Nosferatu and many more. Me and my friend Kristian (Lakrillo here) brought our zombie shooter Hjärnor. Hjärnor takes place just a short time after the zombie outbreak, in a small town in the south of Sweden. We have tried to get the look of the models and terrain to show this. Averything is modular so there is really no limit on how you can set up the board. For now we have 6 campaign scenarios and the heroes get experience by surviving and succeding with the missions.

The rules are totally home made, but of course we have nicked ideas and mechanisms from a lot of other games. The game is co operative, the Heroes play as a group against the mechanisms in the game. A game master is not nescesary, but sometimes it can speed up the game a little.

As the game itself takes place in Sweden we descided to write the rules in swedish to. Maybe some day we will translate them to english, but not in the closeset future.

I will try to upload more pictures as I get them, but here are som for now! Thanks Anders for the pictures below.

A little of the interior in one of the houses.

The harbour and an overview.

A big country house, hard to defend.

Street view.

More pictuers are coming. Soonish...

Hello Everyone, first post here. As Mattias mentioned, we are the ones who have developed this game together. The awesome board however, i cannot take credit for, that is all Mattias works.

It was a great event with many exciting and hilarious moments, we managed to run all our six scenarios and had about 5-6 players each game. All sessions ended in at least partial success for the survivors, but during the cause of the games there were two people that turned into zombies due to infection and two others that were eaten alive.

The system is made so that it scales depending on how many players and how experienced these players are, it works really well, except that it might take some longer time to finish each scenario if there is a high difficulty rating. We have also tried to keep the base of the rules as simple as possible so that new players should have a good understanding of the game within a few turns and it seems like it is working.  :)

There should be loads of pics on this game, I'm trying to collect them :)
