Tomb terrain

Hi

I just fiinished up a project I was working on (for now). Ive got seven tiles done and want to make three more for larger layouts and more variety.



I made it with Project Bricks from Michaels.  I left it fairly generic so I can use it as the Mummy's tomb or a secret nazi lab or just a good old fashioned dungeon crawl.

I have a couple sets of Egyptian TOOBs to use as scenery.  I also intend to populate it with all sorts of random encounters like traps and critters.

I used about three or four boxes so far.  You get about 280 bricks in each box.

This looks really cool! I've never heard of Project Bricks before. They look like a great size for getting lots of walls built fast. Excellent!

planning on painting the bricks to make the color of the board and its trappings streamlined, or keeping it raw? and a better question yet- are the bricks able to take paint (texture, etc)?

Thanks for all the feedback.

Project Bricks are these little pre cut pre painted styrofoam bricks that are supposed to be used for kids school projects.  They run $14.99us for a box of about 280 bricks.  They come prepainted in a cream color.  They also seem to be coated in something more durable than paint.  They can be rolled into columns or easily cut to shape with a craft knife.  You glue them down with white glue or hot glue.  Here is a link:

THe walls are actually painted already.  Due to my poor photography skills you cant really see that.  I painted them with a mix of tan acryllic paint and white glue and water.  I dont know if they would take spray paint as the coating on the bricks is uneven and doesnt cover completly.  I'll probably leave the floors the way they are.

I also saw that they do a halloween set as well.  The bricks are black.

Awesome idea to use those bricks!  For those fortunate enough to have a Michael's craft store or Hobby Lobby (which I believe also carry them), sign up for their online email coupons.  Every other week or so they email out a 40% off coupon.  Wait for that, and buy them using the coupon.  Or if you need two, print two and take a friend along to get the other one!

I've started on a 1930s Orient pulp project, with international archeologists, secret societies, angry locals and such all hunting for or protecting mystical, religious objects of rumored magical properties.  I definitely want to do some tomb interiors, and I like the way you did your modular layout.  I am assuming that each module has a doorway at the same point so you can mix and match?
