LAM Steam-punk guns

The same gun (as far as I can tell) is wielded by one each of the miniatures in "Guns with many barrels", "Ottoman Men at Arms", and "Queen's Engineers" blisters. Is this weapon (to my uneducated eye it looks like a miniature gatling gun) based on a real weapon, and if so, what is it?
