Small comparison guide of OW minis
« on: 21 September 2011, 12:57:23 PM »
My old West miniatures are one of the smaller parts of my miniature collection. I do however own models from 4 sources that can provice miniatures for old West gaming. Black Scorpion Miniatures, Reaper, West Wind and Artizan Design.

I wrote a small summary of my thoughts on each range and compiled a couple of pictures where you can compare the size and style of the miniatures from all the range to see which could be used with each other.

So it would seem that the West Wind figures and the Artizan are a pretty good match!

Nice little review, you may pick up a few of the old Deadlands miniatures which are also on the large size more akin to black Sorpion.

Foundry have 2 ranges the original Perry ones whihc are lovely but quite small and the later ones typically a few gunfighters and the Border raiders, mountain men etc which although they fit in well are larger and more akin to Artizan minis.

Add to this perhaps the Brigade wild west which are by Paul Hicks and work nicely with Foundry and Artizan. I havent seen others such as the Old Glory/westwind ones or knuckle duster ones so cant comment.

Dixon have a range but a lot are quite old though some nice. SHQ have the old kennington range and you can find a few odds and sods amongst those too.

Any photos around of SHQ minis? They have one of those wonderful non-photo websites  ::). Yeah @ Christian, Westwind/Artizan/Foundry/Crusader/Brigade all scale up great!
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

Hmm, not sure, pehaps google kennington. Some are a bit old school but there are one or two which are ok and they are cheap as chips :D

Check the Gothic Horror/Vampire wars range. They are dispersed among the London category.
