For what it is, it is too expensive.  If you are looking for something that you can plop down on a table and start working painting in, it works.  But so does a breakfast tray and they cost half as much.

Thanks, I have those, but I was hoping that it would be a little more secure for an old klutz like me.  :-[

Warlord do one now too.

I actually liked the old version of the painting station, the one in wood. The plastic one is absolutely adequate as well.

There is a new one? Oh, I am off to have a look at it online. I probably will not buy one, but I am curious as to what it is.

update: I am back, and I think it is nice-ish. Is it really that much money?

I have the old one, I didn't know whether this one was lighter and more secure.

Well, cleared my old one off, but, and it is a big but, even with nothing on it, I found the back was so heavy it tipped back when sat on your knees.

The problem with the new GW paint station is that it's designed for people to use it on their laps.  It means people will be hunched over whilst painting - or painting with the model so far away from their eyes that they can't see it.  GW's own advertising pics show it doing this :

It can be used on a table - but the old paint station was perfect for this already.

It just seems like a poor design - and for £20 it's expensive too.

Thanks. I had not noticed that, might just try the old one on a TV table.................  ;)

The new one looks much handier, so i'll look for a cheap one to test, too.

Well..... Looked at it in GW today, nice but tiny, so gone back to mark 1 and happier.

The Mark 1 does look more pratical. I think they are marketing the new one to a different market - it is for people who don't own any tables.

Ah yes, the dumpster-domiciled hobo wargamer. The inevitable result of purchasing too many GW minis.  lol

I like the MK1 GW paint station.  Solid and easily portable, though I must admit mine never looks as organized as yours.  :)
