Picture of Spanish Barracks + Bus or lorries
« on: November 20, 2007, 10:33:49 PM »
Hi guys,

Does anyone of you know of a site where I could find a picture of Guardia Civil barracks?
Preferably during the '36-39 period but somewhat earlier is also ok. I suppose they wouldn't refurbish it every few years?

Second question might be even more of a problem.
I'm looking for a 1920-30's type of bus (Citroen-Renault-Saviem or the like) in a scale compatible with 28mm figures. I know that Force of Arms makes a nice Citroen bus, but for the scenario we intend it should be open and not a solid resin bloc. So I guess we're looking at plastic kits or diecasts perhaps.
Any help is, as always, highy appreciated.

Sure it is 1/50? I know of a french series with 1930ies busses, but those are 1/43. Not sure if it's Solido, though.

That building could possible exist as such in the 1936-39, as "Casas Cuartel" (as they are called) did not change very much over the years.

Take into account that normally they have inner courtyards (not sure on the english word) for exercises, manouvering and vehicle and mounts storing.

Those barracks look just fine. I'll probably replace the somewhat modern looking entrance with something more stylish like the balcony on the first floor.

Checked E bay for that Renault bus and it is indeed 1/50th scale. I'm bidding on two (different versions) and the average price is as you said, less than 10 Euro including postage.

Thanks very much guys

Willie
