Bump!... With my new Fourth Doctor paintjob:

Only one figure, I know... but it's all I have time for these days :P

You've really captured the character's expression. I was going to say 'characteristic expression', but 'character's characteristic expression' sounds a bit stupid.

Nice, though.  Poor dead Dalek ...
That poor dead Dalek was made from greenstuff, by taking Instant Mold impressions of an unpainted Dalek figure, BTW.

So no Daleks were harmed in the making of this production :)

Some of my Doctor Who miniatures:
Wow, you'd need three Doctors to face that horde of Daleks!  I really should get some of the Heresy figures, they're really nice.  Starting with Nine, perhaps my favorite from the new series.

I know it's a little O.C.D but I had to go for the full group ;)

Wow... that IS every Doctor (except Peter Cushing, I guess).  Nice collection.  How are the relative sizes of the Heresy figures versus the Black Tree ones?  Reasonably comparable?  Hideously gigantic?

They're close enough to work well.
I dont like the face sculpts on some the Black Tree ones but unless Heresy or Crooked Dice decide to make the other Doctors they're all thats available really.

In fairness, Cushing's Doctor is not remotely "canon", so I wouldn't worry about it :)

Does the concept of "canon" mean anything when Time Can Be Rewritten?

On the other hand, if you did Peter Cushing, you'd probably have to do Trevor Martin too (Doctor Who and the Daleks in Seven Keys to Doomsday).  And Rowan Atkinson, Richard E Grant, Jim Broadbent, Hugh Grant and Joanna Lumley (The Curse of Fatal Death).  And the other Richard E Grant version (Scream of the Shalka).  And the various Big Finish Doctor Who Unbound folk.  And Terry Walsh in a bad wig.  That way madness lies.

By the way, if you can find them, the old Citadel range had rather better likenesses, in a more caricatured style; but they were also smaller than their successors, and only went up to Peter Davison.  The Fine Art Castings range, which also came out in the 1980s, aren't worth seeking out, in my opinion.

Hi there, I'm new around here but this is my kind of thread. :o

Some great miniatures on here, great basing and customs.

Just throwing some of mine into the mix.

I have the urge to re-do some of mine now, loads of inspiration here on the LAF.

LOL!   Zygons.  Where did they put their freakishly giant heads when they pretended to be humans?  And their sea monster was probably one of the shi**iest looking bio-weapons ever fielded, even by Doctor Who standards.  But still a good story, amazingly.

Thanks for posting these :)

Oh, I hear that! And for me the sizes are okay. The more recent Doctors have been on the taller side, so that's okay, akthough I suspect BT's Troughton may be a little tall, perhaps?

I find their attention to detail frustrating. Some sculpts are lovely - the McCoy you have (and me too) is a very good likeness. Colin Baker - not so much. But McGann to me is the worst by far - everything about it just screams 'done in a hurry!' to me. The hair is more afro than flowing, the hand position is... what IS he doing with his hands? And the costume strikes me as having some of the failings the Troughton and Bakers have - there's a 'gist' of the TV costume there, but not a great attention to detail. With the TRoughton and Colin Baker figures I've been active with green stuff to lengthen tails and lapels, and add in buttons and the like. With the Eighth Doctor figure I'm currently doing the same - and I think the extra detail (in this case buttons at the front and back, plus a fob chain and I'm mulling over whether to do a cravat pin as well) help bring a bit of life to a pretty bland figure.

None of which is to cast any comment on your fine work, by the way. That's a very nice collection, and it's great after all these pages to finally see an Eighth Doctor figure in a set  8)

Add to that, you need to base them all in a generation specific manner ;)
